Shankar Vanavarayar, president of the Kumaraguru group of institutions, said education should be a visa into the future and not just an effort to learn fundamentals to survive. “There will be big transformation in curriculum. Education that is limited now will lean more towards selflearning and getting young people to imagine,” he said….

Sunder Ramasamy, vice-chancellor of Krea University, stressed the need for changes in the sector. “There are so many disciplines … social studies and humanities experts should find ways to make themselves relevant. Though we live in the age of machines, the only way to understand human condition is to understand arts, literature, humanities. Students should find what they are good at and look for institutions that can give them that and allow them to grow.”
